Quick stop in Tanger (just for 1 night) but was treated with a colourful night sky to let us enjoy the evening.
Chefchaouen was a cool city in the Rif mountains of northern Morocco. It kinda reminded me of Ostuni, Italy (where buildings are all white rather than blue) and the hills of Montepulciano, Italy. If only the local wine was as good!!
Visited the Chouara Tannery today in Fes (where they prepare leather hides for dyeing). Getting there requires perseverance. Why? Because like in Marrakech, the local kid mafia tries to provide a tour after which they rob you in alleyways. But today we made in and out unscathed. Shame on the locals for taking advantage of harmless tourists.
Our Riad in Fez was just the place to unwind after wandering the Médina. When you are moving around and travelling for long periods of time it’s important to have some down time to relax.
Having a private driver was the best decision we made in Morocco. He was able to take us to small towns with amazing food and hospitality. Tajine pictured.
The camels kept chasing me today. I think they liked the rose scent from the bath soap we had from the valley of the roses yesterday. 🐪
